In the early 90s, Blige dated K-Ci singer from Jodeci. The affair ended in 1997. In 2000, Blige met record industry executive Martin Kendu Isaacs, who became her manager. The two were married on December 7, 2003, in a small private ceremony at Blige's home attended by 50 guests.
Blige earned her GED in 2010.
Blige has had many business ventures including her own record label, Matriarch Records launched in 2004 through Interscope. In July of 2010, Blige launched her first perfume, My Life exclusively on HSN. Also in October 2010 Blige released a line of sunglasses called "Melodies by MJB". The first of the collection will feature four styles with a total of 20 color options. Each style will represent a specific facet of Blige’s life.
It was confirmed in August of 2010 that Blige had begun work on her tenth studio album. Reports claimed the album would be titled, LovHer and be released first quarter of 2011, but Mary revealed to Rap-Up. com during her Music Saved My Life Tour in 2010, she was in no hurry to release the album and she had not given it a title yet.
